The Complexity of African Cultures
.jpg)
There is always something shocking about every culture that is not ours. A very vital part of the lives of Africans is their culture. Africans are also known to be very religious. These two characteristics are considered important in the upbringing of an African child. There are some cultures that are similar amongst African countries, while regions within a country also share common cultural characteristics and practices. All these apart, there are also cultures and traditions that are specific to regions and sub-regions. It is easier for persons in Africa to have access to Diesel Middlesbrough in England than it is to understand a subculture or tradition even within their own country or region. Such is the complexity of the cultures in Africa.
In a country with forty local languages, for example, expect to see collective cultures as a nation, and at least another forty different traditions that even citizens of the same country may find strange. The African culture is very vast and it is usually what shapes every action of the people. It is difficult to collate the thousands of tradition, cultural beliefs and practices that exist in Africa. Anyone who embarks on the journey to gather information is unlikely to succeed, because some practices are secrets that hardly leave the people it affects. Across Africa a common culture is that children are expected to greet their parents with at least a bow. Some expect the females to kneel while the males prostrate on the ground. It is rude to stare in your parents eyes while greeting them.
